Los Angeles based retro-pop band ReLoVe was selected as an Official Nominee in the 2021 New Music Awards category 'AC New Group of the Year'. With over 300K streams on Spotify, their 1st single ‘Shining Through’ climbed the AC/HOT Up & Coming commercial radio charts in the USA reaching #23 on the AC Indie Music Singles charts.

The new 7-song collection digs much deeper, both musically and lyrically, than their previous smiley pop-centered 'Music on a Mission!' EP released in 2019 on AWAL. Their latest 2022 release ‘Looking for a Reason’ features a sketch animation video that shows off the band’s most infectious pop songwriting skills to date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVmTDo_E_io

Always prompting the questions that need to be asked, Glenn Jost's vocals and lyrics keep challenging the complex socio-spiritual reality we all share. Jost wrote the songs and organically tracked drums and acoustic guitars with bandmate producer Victor Bender. Hussain Jiffry (Herb Alpert) laid down his serious bass guitar grooves, while multi-instrumentalist Bender produced and filled in all the keyboards and electric guitars.

Newly added violin virtuoso and opera singer Leah Zeger (Hans Zimmer), elevates this eclectic music to a foot-stompin' yet sophisticated place, merging all the elements of country funk, reggae soul, and bubblegum retro-pop effortlessly together as one.

Larissa Tormey & PJ Murrihy - New Duet Release

PRESS RELEASE

Singer/Songwriter LARISSA TORMEY releases DUET with Country and Irish Star P.J. MURRIHY.

CHURCH MEETING INSPIRES "FARMERS" DUET.

March 28th: A chance meeting at a church fundraiser in the midlands is the inspiration behind the new duet from two of the stars of Irish country music.

LARISSA TORMEY and P.J. MURRIHY were both on the bill at a fundraiser for the parish church in Kilbeggan a few years back. With both coming from strong farming backgrounds, the conversation quickly turned to cattle! And a friendship was just as quickly formed.

The pair agreed to get together in the studio at some stage, and at last, they've done just that. Over the last few weeks the duo have recorded a version of the much loved tune, " I WISH I HAD SOMEONE TO LOVE ME", which will be released on April 4th

Speaking about their decision to duet, Larissa explained how, because she and P.J. got on so well as soon as they met, she knew that very night that it was almost inevitable they'd share vocal duties on a record someday..

"Talking about cattle is always a good ice-breaker when two farmers meet for the first time", laughed Larissa. "I had heard of P.J. and his music but we'd never met before that night in Kilbeggan. P.J. is a gentleman, as well as a great artist, and a very experienced and knowledgeable farmer, so we had a brilliant chat at the church fundraiser! So that made deciding to record a song together sometime a very, very easy decision. I think from that night on it was just a matter of when. There was never a question of should we or shouldn't we. We were going to do it, and that was that! [laughs]."

The song they chose to record - "I Wish I Had Someone To Love Me" - was written by Guy Massey and is now known to most people as a staple of the folk genre. So it might surprise people to hear that it was actually a country hit for an artist called Vernon Dalhart. Not only that, but the song was originally known as The Prisoner's Song, and was even heard at the end of the Humphrey Bogard movie, Deadend. In fact, it was the B-side to his recording of the classic ballad Wreck of the Old '97, which was the first country song to sell one million copies.

"One of my own favourite songs to sing, and that I've recorded", explained Larissa, "is my version of 'Danny Boy.' So I was always hoping for a chance to record another song like this, one that means so much to so many people here in Ireland, and maybe to do it as a duet. Getting to sing with P.J. was the perfect opportunity for me to make that dream come true. And when we talked about what song we might do, it didn't take very long for both of us to fall in love with the idea of this one. Even though it's a sad and mournful song, we really enjoyed bringing it to life in the studio, so hopefully people are going to enjoy listening to it as well."

Given current events in eastern Europe, Larrisa explained that certain lines in the song became ones she felt quite deeply as she sang them....

"I'm organising the 'Voices For Peace' concert at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate on April 14th, because what I'm seeing on the news is breaking my heart. So we hope to raise some money that we'll donate to the Irish Red Cross, and they in turn can put it to good use to help the people of Ukraine who are going through so much right now. There are some lines in this song, and everytime I sing them, those people are all I can think of.

Tonight is our last night together/ The nearest and dearest must part / For all that has bound us toget- her / Is quickly being torn apart..."

Larissa continued, "P.J. is performing at the 'Voices For Peace' concert as well, and this will be a very emotional song for us to perform together that night"

"I Wish I Had Someone To Love Me", the brand new duet from LARISSA TORMEY and P.J. MURRIHY will be available on all platforms from APRIL 4th.

The "Voices For Peace" concert takes place at the TUAR ARD Arts Centre, Moate, on THURSDAY, APRIL 14th, featuring performances from Larissa, P.J., CHARLIE McGETTIGAN, ALEX ROE, Glór Tíre judge CAITRIONA O' SULLIVAN, Glór Tíre 2022 winner AISHLING RAFFERTY, DAVE LAWLOR, and GER O' BRIEN. Tickets are just €20, and are available from the Tuar Ard box-office on 090-6482042, or www.tuarard.ie
