Community Radio goes On The Road AgainLive music is back in Melbourne Creative Victoria and the CBAA are partnering once again to revive Melbourne’s live music scene. Through the partnership, eight Melbourne community radio stations will organise live music events under Creative Victoria’s initiative On The Road Again. Developed by Amrap, this initiative connects community radio’s dedicated and diverse audiences with new live music experiences in Melbourne. Our work with On The Road Again extends Amrap’s work in promoting Australian music through the power of community radio.
The Melbourne stations taking part reflect the city’s diversity – 3RRR, PBS FM, 3KND, SYN FM, 3CR, JOY 94.9, 3MBS, and 3ZZZ. Nick Brown, a member of popular Melbourne act Cable Ties, booking agent, and active volunteer at both 3RRR and PBS FM has been appointed as Project Co-Ordinator, using his skill set and experience to have Melbourne community radio and its live music scene come together more closely than ever. Recordings from each On The Road Again live event will feature on community radio around Australia via CRN and the recently launched Community Radio Plus App. Stay tuned for more information and event dates.
