Owners of AM/FM stations have NEVER paid a fee for the songs they play

 

Dear SoundExchange Community,  The moment has come for the music community to speak with one voice and tell Congress TODAY creators deserve to be paid when their songs are played on AM/FM Radio. A core part of SoundExchange’s mission is to advocate for music creators to be paid fully and fairly for their work. SoundExchange is a key leader in the musicFIRST coalition that is pressing Congress to pass the American Music Fairness Act, legislation that would ensure creators are paid performance royalties when their music is played on AM/FM radio. While creators are paid performance royalties when their songs are played on digital streaming services, the owners of AM/FM stations have NEVER paid a fee for the songs they play. Passage of the American Music Fairness Act would finally grant creators the respect of being paid for their work. Now is a crucial time and we need your help with Congress.
